Question of the week: Is worry worth your time?
Following my new strategy/mantra of question everything…this week I’m asking myself, “Is worry a good use of my time?”
My answer – Sometimes!
It depends on how you worry and what you do with it.
Can you answer yes to any of these questions?
Can I take any action to affect the problem?
Am I willing to address the problem?
Do I really have any power in this situation?
If you can honestly answer yes to any of these, then feel free to worry for a short period of time (I suggest setting a 15 minutes max,) brainstorm what the issues are and possible solutions, ask for help if necessary, then take action.
Now let it go…You’ve done what you can. Spending any more time or effort on the issue is at best wasteful and at worst destructive.
If you answered no or maybe (which is really a no you’re refusing to accept) then skip right to let it go.
I think it really can be that simple when you view it as a choice and a decision.
What do you think?
